DevOps Myths

As with all emerging trends, DevOps has attracted both supporters and detractors, and as it is adopted, false beliefs are arising.
It is said to come exclusively from ‘Dev’ (development) and ‘Ops’ (operations); however, it involves all areas participating in the project, such as support, quality assurance, safety, among others. Besides, it promotes collaboration by avoiding silos.
Likewise, people use to relate this practice to a team, a skill, a job position, a degree, a certification, as DevOps is a way of working, a culture. It is said that there is only one right way to put it into practice; however, DevOps does not have a single formula for all companies.
It is also considered an exclusive tool for companies operating in the cloud. They indeed were, but today, organizations can adopt this way of working whether their operation is cloud-based or not.
It is believed that it is only a matter of communication, but good communication with no proper process is equivalent to nothing.
