The three ways of DevOps comprise three basic principles that describe the values and philosophies governing the processes, procedures, practices, and prescriptive steps required for the organization to develop the change requirements to adopt the DevOps culture.
The three ways are as follows:
- First Way: It focuses on all value streams; everything must flow in one direction. The goal is to gain in-depth knowledge focused on creating an agile and sustainable workflow, thus avoiding any known defect and choosing the best solution to enhance the value stream.
- Second Way: It focuses on collecting feedback in advance to transfer knowledge to the entire chain, make corrections and improvements, and facilitate decision-making based on the data obtained.
- Third Way: It focuses on providing time for continuous improvement, innovation, experimentation, and learning activities. Likewise, it seeks to introduce random failures to the system to enhance team resilience.
Thus, DevOps has proven not to be only a trend that helps organizations get to market earlier, with better quality, and lower costs; on the contrary, DevOps is becoming the corporate IT culture for many organizations.
